After introductions from the IMS founders, Marc Marot, formerly of Island Records and manager of Paul Oakenfold , gave a very provocative speech, comparing the music industry of today with the last days of the dinosaurs, and the digital revolution in music with the meteorites which wiped them out .
Of course 70% of life on earth survived - the smaller life-forms - and evolved , shaping the future, and this is how he sees the multinational, major labels and the smaller independent operators, especially in the world of electronic music.
