The legendary Carl COX surprises once again by offering his newest album on a magical, updatable USB stick, which offers you much more than a simple album. in fact, this USB stick offers you a mix of surprises as Carl explains:

“You pay the one price and the USB will not only give you the album, but it’ll also be your key to everything I do in the next 6 months or so.” This is set to include exclusive interviews, track by tracks, remixes, videos, competitions, gig tickets, you name it, the USB will continue to provide new content – and value for money. “I’m asking people to buy the whole album, and I’m promising that with the actual album, plus all the extras – they won’t be disappointed.”

The new USB album will be released in 3 phases as follows:

Phase 1

The USB – which is available from August 1st with the first single release, ‘Family Guy,’ a 10-minute slice of classic techno. Family Guy comes with massive remixes from Layo & Bushwacka! & Jon Rundell, available on the USB. Also available from August 1st, fans can enjoy a first taster of the album, with 12 brand new tracks. This includes cuts that will be on the final album, along with B-sides and exclusives.

Phase 2

On September 26th, the owners of the USB will receive the second single, a vocal dub step mix of ‘Nexus’ complete with remixes and video followed by the final and complete album on October 17th. On October 31st the third single, ‘Chemistry’ (plus remixes) will be released.

Phase 3

Throughout the end of this year on through to next, the USB will be updated with ongoing LIVE footage of Carl & his band touring. You will be able to follow Carl at rehearsals, on the road and on stage as the album gets performed live to thousands across 5 cities in Australia – the first ever live Carl Cox tour.

Recorded over the last year in his Melbourne studio, ‘All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor’showcases a range of styles across its 14 tracks including vocal house, dubstep, drum & bass, Latin and techno. “This album is aimed purely at the dancefloor,” says Carl. “Every track should be a winner too as I’ve been road-testing and remixing them to make sure they really do work.”

Ciudad Pacifico en El ROTOTOM SUNSPLASH Festival / Benicassim

Del 18 al 27 de agosto de 2011 occurrio en Benicassim (Castello) la 18 edicion del ROTOTOM SunSplash European Reggae festival. Eli Rojas para Ciudad Pacifico estuvo alli para darnos cuenta de este evento musical.

Este festival es sin duda alguna, una de la mas prestigiosas citas con la cultura reggae del mundo, tanto por la calidad como por la cantidad de musica que ofrece.

El gran orgullo y valor de este evento es el clima que se respira y nos envuelve a todos. Un clima de paz, de amor, de solidaridad, de apoyo reciproco, de atencion hacia el projimo y d ecuriosidad y respeto hacia la diversidad.

En esta aldea allègre, mulitetnica y llena de color, numerosos ninos y ninas, ancianos, jovenes y adultos se entremezclan por saborear durante 9 dias, un mundo différente, magico y musical…

Las miles de oportunidades del ROTOTOM SunSplash giran en torno a la musica, y las anteciones principales del festival se centraron en el Main Stage y en los otros espacios musicales : entre las mas de 30 estrellas que brillaron en el escenario principal, destacabamos la presencia de las herencias musicales de Bob Marley con sus hijos Stephen, Ky-Mani, Ziggy, y su mujer Rita.

La riqueza del patrimonio historico de la tradicion jamaicana ha sido asegurada con nombres legendarios como Lee Scratch Perry, Toots & The Maytals, Inner Circle or Jimmy Cliff.

Esta tradicion es llevada adelante hoy en dia por importantes artistas presnetes en el festival como Luciano, Queen Ifrica, Capleton o Lutan Fyah. El dinamismo y la excitacion de la Dancehall jamaicana estuvieron representados por campeones como Shaggy y Mr Vegas, mientras que los lazos reforzados entre Espana e Italia Estuvieron simbolizados con la presecencia de los italianos Africa Unite y Sud Sound System, y de los espanoles Roberto Sanchez y Swan Fyahbwoy.

El ROTOTOM SunSplash Festival no es unicamente musica. Por todos los afueras de los scenarios se encontraban un gran variedad de estancos de comida, artesania, de actividades cultural como cursos de yoga de percussions, de baile y de circo, exposiciones y desde 2007 nuestra Reggae universidad.

Cocoon Heroes presents Nina Kraviz / Monday September 12th / AMNESIA

The Monday Cocoon Heroes Party receive this week Nina Kraviz.
After stormed the DC-10, the Space and Ushuaia, the siberian born singer and Dj come back for the second time in Amnesia to share the Mainroom with the Cocoon Kaiser, Sven Vath.

Originally a dentistry student in Moscow, Nina Kraviz has been immersed in the music industry for some time but only recently has her star risen when in 2007, she get the Friday residence in the moscovit club, Propaganda.

She first caught our eye with the killer groove ‘Pain In The Ass’ on Radioslave’s fabric48 album back in 2009. Since then, Nina has been carving out refreshing sound signatures underpinned by emotive and textured spoken word with a nod to the classic sounds of Detroit and Chicago. Creating a buzz on labels such as Jus Ed's Underground Quality and Efdemin's vinyl-only label, her most recent release ‘I’m Week’ on Rekids has received huge underground support for its twist on ‘heartbreak house.’

Not afraid to grab hold the mic, Nina’s ethereal voice entrances the thumping 4/4 beat, making every groove distinctly her own. With her reputation as a DJ now preceding her and her strikingly raw, simple, and emotional Deep House making waves through the scene, Nina Kraviz’s future definitely looks assured for now.

However, when you ask her about her future plans, she answers that she doesn’t like talk about her plans, in her opinion, « God makes jokes about you when you tell him about your plans, as far as you realise you are a small little person on this planet and you don’t decide anything, everything is fine.»

Food: Simple yet high quality food, basically everything fresh and grown with love, Russian food! I have an especially soft spot for chicken soup. My day is not complete if I don't get my soup. Ahh! I almost forgot my ultimate food weakness - chocolate cake.



Drink: Apfelschorle – a typical German drink: half apple juice and half sparkling water.



City: I am a Moscovite. I enjoy my daily struggle with my lovely Moscow. My other love is Italy, if you have ever been to Florence, Venice, Rome or any other Italian city you will totally agree with me. Some people (even Italians) say "it's fucked up" but don’t believe it - they’re lying. It’s one of the greatest countries on the planet. I’m also secretly crazy about Japan but I never say that in public because it's so obvious that it's a dope country that you don't need to say it out loud. Once it's spoken it almost sounds like the epitome of banality - like moving to Berlin. Everyone on earth loves Japan. Almost everyone wants to move to Berlin.

Studio Equipment: Analog synthesizers with knobs and keys. I like touching knobs in real time, recording live and seeing what happens. Last time I was in a knob-tweaking mood was just yesterday looking for the right bass for my new song. Brand wise, the usual suspects – Moog, Dave Smith, Veroma, Roland, Yamaha and Korg.

RADIO SOULWAX / 2manyDjs / Live from Ibiza Sonica Today 19H00-20H00

We don’t need to present Stephan and David Dewaele, the two brothers who founded with Stefan Van Leuven and Steve Slingeneyer the legendary band, Soulwax.

The two brothers, after their live with Soulwax used to play music to end the show. Finally, they kept the project and became '2 many Djs'. It’s actually their radio show « Hang The Dj » inspired by grandmasterFlash, on a national belgian radio where 2manyDjs really impose their style, and what a style! The concept? No rules with the music, every mix desserves to be tried. The result? Some audacious and mad tracks such as mixing an old school reggae track of 10Cc with Destiny Child vocals or mixing Iggy Pop with Salt n' Pepper, out comes a very proper style of music.

The time passes, but their Madness remains the same. Always on stage or on the road all over the world, this two belgian guys never stop. It’s actually what was announced in the teaser of their DVD release in 2008, Part of the weekend never dies : « Honestly I don't know how it happens, physically how human beings can withstand so much touring and performing … every night, for years by now. »

Radio Soulwax came back !

Two years ago they said they think about the return of Radio Soulwax.

The idea? A series of 24 one-hour mixes, entitled Introversy. The Dewaele brothers have decided to pitch only the introductions of the song (famous or not) with of course their sense of hedonism, humour and efficiency that characterizes them.

Each mix should be released individually and weekly on the website and will have his own sound and visual identity.

The two brothers ultimately create a total new 24 hours experience.

The experience has already started and can now be seen online. The owners of Android or Apple machines can even download a special application here.

On Tuesday August 30th, Stephan and David Daweale A.K.A. 2 many Djs will be in the Ibiza Sonica radio Studio for an exclusive live set from 19H00 to 20H00.

After stormed Dalt Vila during the final of the international music summit in May with Dubfire and Pete Tong, you'll can find them in PACHA tonight con James Murphy. It’s actually their seventh date on the Island in the summer.

Since 1982, Sven VATH knew impose himself like a reference of techno music,he was one of the founder of legendary techno music labels like Harthouse and the now-defunct Eye Q. Later, SVEN SVATH built a techno and electronic music empire founding COCOON MUSIC & EVENT wich included his club in Frankfurt, the Ibiza Cocoon parties and his label Cocoon recording.

The founder of the famous minimal label MINUS, is one of the pioneers of the second detroit techno wave, and knew impose himself like flag-waver for the underground Detroit scene.
Resident of the COCOON parties, Richie Hawtin will come back in Amnesia for his last session on September 19th.

One room, two Djs. Dubfire, will share the mainroom with Richie. Ari Shirazinia knew, after the sucess of his duo Deep Dish with his friend Sharam Tayebi, impose his own style Under a new stage name, more techno than progressive, Dubfire style is very different from the Deep Dish’s. Dubfire is also one of the residents of the COCOON parties and will come back to share shows with Richie Hawtin at september 19th.

WE LOVE SPACE the only weekly festival in ibiza, wich celebrate this year 13 years of parties reserve us a big line up today from 16H00 to 06H00. WE LOVE SPACE it's actually the largest party of the island.

The french Dj, Miss Kittin will be there for a 5 hours set in the space open terazza.

Miss Kittin knew impose herself like a real reference in the techno and electronic music world. Anecdotally, t’s Dj Hell the famous german electronic Producer, founder of the label International deejay gigolo records who signed her first track « Frank Sinatra » made with her friend and co-worker The Hacker in 1996. 5 years later, Dj Hell produce their « first » album.

She released her last EP « All you need » on the Berlin’s techno label Mobilee records this winter in january. In may, she declared at the parisian rex club interviewer who asking her about her next solo album, that it’s already made and finished but she prefers wait to release it and enjoying her djing and peacefull time before the begginning of a big international live tour. Who knows, maybe we’ll have some surprise tonight !
