Cocoon Heroes presents Nina Kraviz / Monday September 12th / AMNESIA

The Monday Cocoon Heroes Party receive this week Nina Kraviz.
After stormed the DC-10, the Space and Ushuaia, the siberian born singer and Dj come back for the second time in Amnesia to share the Mainroom with the Cocoon Kaiser, Sven Vath.

Originally a dentistry student in Moscow, Nina Kraviz has been immersed in the music industry for some time but only recently has her star risen when in 2007, she get the Friday residence in the moscovit club, Propaganda.

She first caught our eye with the killer groove ‘Pain In The Ass’ on Radioslave’s fabric48 album back in 2009. Since then, Nina has been carving out refreshing sound signatures underpinned by emotive and textured spoken word with a nod to the classic sounds of Detroit and Chicago. Creating a buzz on labels such as Jus Ed's Underground Quality and Efdemin's vinyl-only label, her most recent release ‘I’m Week’ on Rekids has received huge underground support for its twist on ‘heartbreak house.’

Not afraid to grab hold the mic, Nina’s ethereal voice entrances the thumping 4/4 beat, making every groove distinctly her own. With her reputation as a DJ now preceding her and her strikingly raw, simple, and emotional Deep House making waves through the scene, Nina Kraviz’s future definitely looks assured for now.

However, when you ask her about her future plans, she answers that she doesn’t like talk about her plans, in her opinion, « God makes jokes about you when you tell him about your plans, as far as you realise you are a small little person on this planet and you don’t decide anything, everything is fine.»

Food: Simple yet high quality food, basically everything fresh and grown with love, Russian food! I have an especially soft spot for chicken soup. My day is not complete if I don't get my soup. Ahh! I almost forgot my ultimate food weakness - chocolate cake.

City: I am a Moscovite. I enjoy my daily struggle with my lovely Moscow. My other love is Italy, if you have ever been to Florence, Venice, Rome or any other Italian city you will totally agree with me. Some people (even Italians) say "it's fucked up" but don’t believe it - they’re lying. It’s one of the greatest countries on the planet. I’m also secretly crazy about Japan but I never say that in public because it's so obvious that it's a dope country that you don't need to say it out loud. Once it's spoken it almost sounds like the epitome of banality - like moving to Berlin. Everyone on earth loves Japan. Almost everyone wants to move to Berlin.

Studio Equipment: Analog synthesizers with knobs and keys. I like touching knobs in real time, recording live and seeing what happens. Last time I was in a knob-tweaking mood was just yesterday looking for the right bass for my new song. Brand wise, the usual suspects – Moog, Dave Smith, Veroma, Roland, Yamaha and Korg.

We don’t need to present Stephan and David Dewaele, the two brothers who founded with Stefan Van Leuven and Steve Slingeneyer the legendary band, Soulwax.

The two brothers, after their live with Soulwax used to play music to end the show. Finally, they kept the project and became '2 many Djs'. It’s actually their radio show « Hang The Dj » inspired by grandmasterFlash, on a national belgian radio where 2manyDjs really impose their style, and what a style! The concept? No rules with the music, every mix desserves to be tried. The result? Some audacious and mad tracks such as mixing an old school reggae track of 10Cc with Destiny Child vocals or mixing Iggy Pop with Salt n' Pepper, out comes a very proper style of music.

The time passes, but their Madness remains the same. Always on stage or on the road all over the world, this two belgian guys never stop. It’s actually what was announced in the teaser of their DVD release in 2008, Part of the weekend never dies : « Honestly I don't know how it happens, physically how human beings can withstand so much touring and performing … every night, for years by now. »

Radio Soulwax came back !

Two years ago they said they think about the return of Radio Soulwax.

The idea? A series of 24 one-hour mixes, entitled Introversy. The Dewaele brothers have decided to pitch only the introductions of the song (famous or not) with of course their sense of hedonism, humour and efficiency that characterizes them.

Each mix should be released individually and weekly on the website and will have his own sound and visual identity.

The two brothers ultimately create a total new 24 hours experience.

The experience has already started and can now be seen online. The owners of Android or Apple machines can even download a special application here.

On Tuesday August 30th, Stephan and David Daweale A.K.A. 2 many Djs will be in the Ibiza Sonica radio Studio for an exclusive live set from 19H00 to 20H00.

Ari Shirazinia knew, after the sucess of his duo Deep Dish with his friend Sharam Tayebi, impose his own style Under a new stage name, more techno than progressive, Dubfire style is very different from the Deep Dish’s. WE LOVE SPACE the only weekly festival in ibiza, wich celebrate this year 13 years of parties reserve us a big line up today from 16H00 to 06H00. WE LOVE SPACE it's actually the largest party of the island.

The french Dj, Miss Kittin will be there for a 5 hours set in the space open terazza.

Miss Kittin knew impose herself like a real reference in the techno and electronic music world. Anecdotally, t’s Dj Hell the famous german electronic Producer, founder of the label International deejay gigolo records who signed her first track « Frank Sinatra » made with her friend and co-worker The Hacker in 1996. 5 years later, Dj Hell produce their « first » album.

She released her last EP « All you need » on the Berlin’s techno label Mobilee records this winter in january. In may, she declared at the parisian rex club interviewer who asking her about her next solo album, that it’s already made and finished but she prefers wait to release it and enjoying her djing and peacefull time before the begginning of a big international live tour. Who knows, maybe we’ll have some surprise tonight !

I WANT MY MTV IBIZA / friday August 19th in AMNESIA

Shake it ! hosted by I want my MTV Ibiza is coming back in the Main room of Amnesia this Friday. After inviting artist like James Holden, Marco Carola, Nina Kraviz or M.A.N.D.Y, the two English Djs Layo Paskin and Matthew Benjamin A.K.A Layo & Bushwacka invite for the second time Madga for a Shake it ! all night long session.

She’s actually coming back from Berlin for the third time of the season. The polish Dj is recently travelling all around the world to promote her album « From the Fallen Page » revealed on the german and minimal label MINUS in the fall of 2010.

She’s just created ITEMS AND THINGS her own label with her two friends and djs Marc Houle and Troy Pierce : « Items and things are bits and pièces of uniqueness we come across. The label is a Platform to launch the music that we love. There are no rules, just sounds we like and artist we believe in. »

The futures months see her continuing to expand her sound, as she takes roots in her Berlin studio to work on her forthcoming 2012 album project.

Ibiza Sonica a traves de su división Estudio Sonico, ha instalado un player en el Facebook de Carl Cox para que sus fans puedan seguir la transmisión de las 10 horas de sesión de su fiesta de apertura esta noche.

La retransmisión contará con los comentarios del propio Carl Cox desde la cabina mientras pincha. Se emitirá en simultaneo en el player y en Ibiza Sonica hasta las 23:00.

A partir de esa hora se podrá seguir la transmisión a traves del facebook de Carl Cox.
